Name of the Programme: Expanded Immunization Programme.
Program implementer: Upazila Health and Post Office and all health workers under his jurisdiction.
Funding and Other Supporters: Ministry of Health and Welfare, World Health Organization.
Objectives and methods: Immunization of children against 08 diseases and prevention of night sickness and malnutrition through vitamin A capsules. Prevention of tetanus in mothers and newborns through KT vaccination of mothers. Replenish vitamin A deficiency in mothers and newborns by feeding vitamin A capsules to mothers. The main goal is to reduce child morbidity and mortality.
Beneficiary population covered: All women aged 15-49 years and all children aged 0-60 months.
EOC Program:
Program Name : Maternity Services
Program implementers: Upazila Health and PPO Officers and doctors and nurses of EOC non-affiliated hospitals.
Funding and Other Supporters: Ministry of Health and Welfare, UNICEF.
Aims and Approach: Safe motherhood, safe delivery and reduction of infant and maternal mortality.
Beneficiary population covered: All expectant mothers.
ARI Programme:
Program Name : ARI.
Program implementers: All doctors, medical assistants, pharmacists, nurses of the institution including supervisors/ upazila health and post office officers.
Funding and Other Supporters: Ministry of Health and Welfare, UNICEF.
OBJECTIVES AND METHODS: To treat and reduce the incidence of pneumonia and bronchiectasis in children.
Beneficiary population covered: All children.
TB and Leprosy Control Programme:
Program Name: Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme.
Program Implementer: BRAC and Department of Health jointly.
Funding and Other Supporters: Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Objectives and Methods: The main objective is to control the spread of the disease by identifying open cases and providing treatment.
Beneficiary community covered: All communities of Bangladesh.
Arsenic program:
Program Name: Arsenicosis Diagnosis Program.
Program implementer: Upazila Health and Health Officer and all health workers under his jurisdiction.
Funding and Other Supporters: Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Aims and Methods: The main aim is to diagnose and treat arsenicosis.
Beneficiary population covered: All population. In addition to this, treatment services for all other types of diseases are provided.
